Meet The Toomers

Gene Toomer, Jr. is a seasoned healthcare executive with over three decades of leadership in medical practice management, hospital operations, and strategic development. Known for his exceptional people skills and bottom-line accountability, he has consistently driven operational excellence across diverse healthcare settings. As Executive Director of ELBEC Medical Business Systems, he has led initiatives in P&L oversight, strategic planning, and physician recruitment. His prior roles at Bon Secours and Palmetto Health Alliance showcase his ability to enhance service delivery, expand market share, and improve financial performance. Gene holds a Master’s in Health Services Administration and a BA in Accounting from Morehouse College.

Dr. Linda G. Toomer is an accomplished nursing leader with a distinguished career spanning over three decades in healthcare administration, education, and clinical practice. Currently serving as the Director of Nursing Services for the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) Program at Mercer University, Dr. Toomer continues to demonstrate her commitment to excellence in nursing education and healthcare delivery. A dynamic and strategic leader, Dr. Toomer has held multiple executive roles at Grady Health System in Atlanta, Georgia in Ambulatory Care, Quality Improvement & Education. Throughout her career, Dr. Toomer has been recognized for her contributions to the nursing profession with numerous accolades. Dr. Toomer’s educational background is as robust as her professional experience. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Leadership and Management from Brenau University, a Master of Science in Nursing Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina, and a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration from Spelman College. She holds multiple board-certifications.

The Toomers have been married for 39 years and have 4 adult children.
