Meet Philip Effiong Jr

Philip Effiong Jr. is a seasoned educator with over twenty-five years of experience, currently teaching at Michigan State University. He holds a PhD in Drama from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and previously earned degrees in English and literature of the African Diaspora from the University of Calabar. Throughout his career, he has taught a diverse range of subjects across universities in Nigeria, Ghana, and the United States. An accomplished author, he has published numerous articles on the humanities and two books, including his most recent 2025 work, My Biafran Scar: A War & Postwar Narrative.
