About

Maryam Garba-Sani is an investor, entrepreneur, and writer. Her work, which aims to improve human agency through entrepreneurship as a means of driving systems change, is primarily anchored in health and life sciences. Maryam is actively involved in the startup, social innovation and venture finance ecosystem, supporting founders and funders building and backing meaningful initiatives. She is an IncludedVC Fellow, Fund Launch Winter 2026 Cohort Member, and mentor to several startups both standalone and through programs such as Futurize Founder Studio and Stanford Emergence. Maryam is a Director at Horizon Health Network, an organisation which builds agency across healthcare ecosystems, democratising access to quality healthcare for underserved markets, starting with Nigeria. Alongside her role at Horizon Health Network, she is currently building a venture with her sister where high-signal opportunities — sourced from real health journeys by clinicians, patients, and caregivers — get turned into investable businesses. Earlier in her career, Maryam held strategic roles at HSBC, where she drove customer excellence across 500+ branches and managed financial inclusion partnerships across 12 global markets. She holds an MSc in Data Inequality and Society from the University of Edinburgh and a BSc in Economics and Management from Aston Business School.
