Meet Ebi Ofrey

Dr. Ebi Ofrey is a distinguished medical professional with over two decades of experience in the healthcare industry. He holds a degree in medicine and surgery from the renowned University of Ibadan in Nigeria. Furthering his expertise, he obtained a certificate in Geriatric Care from the University of Benin Teaching Hospital and the University College Hospital in Ibadan.

Dr. Ofrey's career took an intriguing turn when he pursued a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) at U.C.S.I University Malaysia. This academic journey opened the door to his current role as the CEO and Co-founder of GeroCare Solutions Ltd. At GeroCare, he and his team are trailblazers in health technology, using cutting-edge innovations to provide medical access to underserved populations, with a specific focus on the elderly and rural communities in Africa.

In addition to these achievements, GeroCare was acknowledged as one of the top 50 Business Innovations in Africa at the Africa Innovation Summit in 2018 and one of the top 30 African health innovations by the World Health Organization (WHO) at the World Health Forum in Cape Verde in 2019. The company also received the prestigious Outstanding Digital Health Innovation award in 2020 from the Healthcare Communication Group.

Most recently Gerocare also won the 3rd prize in the NSIA prize for innovation 3.0 2025.

Before launching GeroCare, Dr. Ofrey held high-ranking positions in the Nigerian Civil Service, including serving as a Medical Director of a state-owned hospital and as the head of medical services and quality assurance for a state-wide health insurance scheme.
