Meet Clyde Perezcastaneda

Clyde Perezcastaneda
Assistant Principal
About
My name is Clyde Perezcastaneda and this is my opportunity to tell folks a little bit about myself and the work I am involved in.
Currently, I am a 6th Grade Assistant Principal in the Exeter school district. This could be seen as rather mundane however in the district there are approximately 70 folks in leadership K-12 and I am the only person of color. It has proven to both be a challenge and a blessing.
In my personal life I like to claim that I am a child of God. I have 10 children, long short story, and am married to a woman who is also a child of God that works as a Director of Special Education.
My passion is my faith and I am growing a stronger interest in representing my culture on a more visible level as I live in what is becoming a more marginalized stakeholder in the communities that we exist in. My work with Educators of Color and Black Men’s Reflection Group are steps towards better understanding of what more of our peoples’ experience as we continue to evolve through our own experiences and the state of our country through these turbulent times.
