About
CDR Bradley is a retired U.S. Coast Guard Commander who dedicated 21 years to active duty service and accumulated over 20 years of joint military experience within the Department of Defense (DOD). He is a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, having been married to Diane for 45 years. Their family includes two children—Dr. Matthew Bradley of Wakefield, MA, and Lauren Baliey of Portsmouth, VA—as well as one grandson, Marcus.
CDR Bradley’s final assignment was as Chief, Operations Planning and Analysis Branch, USCG Atlantic Area, where he served as lead planner for Homeland Security and Defense exercises, counter-drug operations, and alien migration and interdiction operations. He also served as Executive Officer aboard USCGC LEGARE (WMEC 912), where he was responsible for planning and executing diplomatic, national defense, law enforcement, and search and rescue patrols throughout the western hemisphere. His other assignments included operational roles at the Joint Interagency Task Force East, USCGC VIGOROUS (WMEC 627), USCG Ninth Coast Guard District Command Center, USCG Group Detroit, and USCGC NORTHWIND (WAGB 282).
With over 20 years of DOD experience, CDR Bradley specialized in operational planning, execution, and seminar facilitation for senior leader educational programs. His work extended across the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense, and Department of the Army, with expertise in concept and future capabilities development, as well as identifying and implementing joint solutions to complex challenges in future operating environments. CDR Bradley’s experience includes Joint, Combined, and Interagency Operations, such as Joint Task Force leadership, staff training, senior officer education, and interagency coordination in contingency operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations, and combatant commander training events.
CDR Bradley earned a Master of Arts in Leadership from Liberty University and a Bachelor of Science in Marine Science from the United States Coast Guard Academy. He is a graduate of FEMA’s DoD EPC Emergency Preparedness Course, the US Navy Tactical Action Officer School in Newport, RI, the USCG Maritime Law Enforcement School in Yorktown, VA, the USCG National Search and Rescue (SAR) School in Yorktown, VA, and the National Motor Lifeboat Supervisors Course at Cape Disappointment.
His awards include a Defense Meritorious Service Medal, two Coast Guard Meritorious Service Medals, and a permanent Cutterman Pin.
